Our 2nd Visit to Milton Keynes Snowzone for our annual training day, this weekend, was a real success.
On Saturday we had a lively discussion with our senior ski instructors and ski course managers covering a number of subjects including the successes of last year’s school groups and the plans for our 2014 school ski groups.
Also discussed were some of the new developments in resort including, we hope, the laying of a carpet lift on the beginners area.
Everyone was very excited to have first sight of the new uniforms and all were very impressed with the quality of the jackets. These will make a huge difference to our presence in resort.
The main discussion revolved around standardising communication between ski course managers and the school group leaders and then the ski course managers and the ski instructors.
We had a very nice meal at Café Rouge, where we were joined by some other instructors and then on Sunday we had a full day on the snow in the Snowzone.
Sunday consisted of a morning and afternoon session, where in the first session, each instructor was exposed to some high level assessment of their own technique and in the second session we looked at improving instructor teaching skills through the use of our very own personal handbooks.
Sandwiched between the two sessions was lunch and a safety briefing from a school group leader of 32 years standing on what school teachers expect from our instructors in resort.
Overall everyone said that they had a really enjoyable day and learnt a lot as well as going home with a brand new uniform jacket.
Many thanks to Milton Keynes Snowzone for hosting us all yesterday.
